The Variable Sun: Past, Present, and Future Perspectives will explore solar variability—changes in the Sun's magnetic activity over timescales from days to millennia. It aims to bring together experts in observations, modeling, to discuss recent scientific results. The program will feature invited reviews and invited talks, focusing on understanding solar magnetism and solar variability across various domains
Solar variability encompasses changes in the Sun's energy output, magnetic activity, and associated phenomena across a broad range of timescales—from seconds to millennia and beyond. These variations play a critical role in influencing space weather, Earth's climate, and the performance of space-reliant technologies. This international workshop will focus on the current understanding and recent results related to origin and variability of solar magnetism, atmospheric dynamics, energetic phenomena, and their space weather consequences. A special session will focus on future space and ground based solar instrumentation. This curated workshop will provide a platform for the international and Indian research community to share recent advances in our understanding of solar magnetism and its variability across diverse spatial, temporal, and energetic domains, and chart a course for future initiatives and collaboration. Oral presentations at this workshop is by invitation only, however, the workshop is open to everyone for participation and poster presentations
