OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAM

The Indian Institute of Space science and Technology (IIST) has started its undergraduate (UG) programme in 2007 and presently employs performance in the JEE Advanced Examinations as the criteria for UG Admissions at IIST. It is often found that the students appearing for such competitive examinations find very limited time to understand and appreciate various domains of science and technology to make a very conscious and educated choice of careers. Hence a short term workshop is planned to improve the scientific exposure and awareness among young and potential students before they make their career choices, especially students studying in Xth, XIth and XIIth standard.

Keeping this in the view, IIST is organizing a six-day workshop at IIST campus on “Advances in space sciences and technology" during the period of 17 - 22 July 2023 called Anvika (Antariksh Vigyan Karyashala). In total 50 bright students who are presently moving or have recently moved to Classes X, XI and XII will be hosted at the IIST campus.

TOPICS TO BE COVERED

The programs will include day long classroom activities, tutorials, laboratory visits, demonstration of experiments and hands on training. Expert faculty members form all sciences and engineering departments will be delivering the lectures and training the students in frontier areas of space science and technology.
