National Conference on Interdisciplinary Innovations and Emerging Research in Digital Humanities

CODE, CULTURE AND CRITIQUE:
New Junctures in Digital Humanities

11 - 13 June 2025

Department of Humanities & Social Sciences
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology

Concept Note

                The rapid evolution of Digital Humanities (DH) marks a significant transformation in academia through the intersections of computational methods, AI, and data-driven approaches that reshape research, pedagogy, and creative practices in the humanities. The National Conference “Code, Culture and Critique: New Junctures in Digital Humanities” aims to critically engage with and explore how digital tools and methods redefine research in cultural studies, digital memory, popular culture, spatial studies, film studies, folk studies, and sociology, moving beyond their utilitarian aspects to examine broader epistemological, ethical and cultural ramifications. The conference will examine DH as a space of both opportunity and critique; expanding accessibility and analytical depth while interrogating algorithmic bias, digital equity and the implications of technological mediation in knowledge production.
We invite original, unpublished research papers/panels that align with the conference themes, but not limited to;

Critical Digital Literacy
DH and AI
DH and Archiving
