The Indian Society for Heat and Mass Transfer (ISHMT) is a national professional body dedicated to the promotion of science and technology in the field of heat and mass transfer. Established in 1974, the Society is headquartered at the Heat Transfer and Thermal Power Laboratory, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Madras, Chennai. ISHMT provides a common platform for researchers, scientists, technologists, and industry professionals to collaborate and advance knowledge in thermal sciences. The Society organizes conferences, lectures, and technical meetings, and publishes scientific materials to facilitate the exchange of ideas. It also actively engages in national and international collaborations with organizations pursuing similar objectives.
ISHMTC – RCT
The ISHMT Regional Chapter, Trivandrum (ISHMT-RCT) was formed by members of the Indian Society for Heat and Mass Transfer (ISHMT) located in and around Trivandrum. The chapter’s jurisdiction covers Kerala State as well as the neighbouring districts of Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu. ISHMT-RCT actively promotes research, collaboration, and knowledge sharing in the field of heat and mass transfer within the region, supporting both academic and industrial communities.
