Abstract Type: Contributory Presentation
Abstract: Long term monitoring of geomagnetic storm activity is essential for understanding the interaction between sun and earth, and for enhancing the accuracy of space weather predictions. This study investigates the long -term variability of geomagnetic storm activity using Disturbance Storm Time (Dst) index from 1964-2025, covering solar cycles 20 to 25. Statistical analyses of storm frequency, intensity, and temporal variability are conducted to assess trends and potential implications for space weather forecasting. The study classifies storms into moderate, intense, and superstorm categories and explores their distribution across solar cycles and seasons. Results show significant variability in storm occurrence tied to solar activity, with notable peaks during solar maximum phases. A substan
