Title: Oscillations and waves in solar prominences: observations and physical implications

Abstract: Since the early 20th century, solar prominence observations already revealed the presence of oscillations and waves in these structures. However, for much of that century, such observations remained scarce. In the last three decades, thanks to the capabilities of modern telescopes, a considerable number of events have been accumulated, and nowadays these phenomena are routinely detected. In this talk, I will present the most relevant observational results and discuss the physical implications that can be extracted from them.
