Abstract: Mapping the Sun's meridional circulation (MC) is crucial to understanding its dynamo and interior dynamics. Despite continuous helioseismic observations over the last three decades, from space (SOHO/MDI and SDO/HMI) as well as from ground (GONG), determination of the deep strucuture of MC has remained inconclusive owing to multiple systematic effects and previous studies have provided inconsistent results. I summarise the findings so far, and the ongoing efforts to reconcile different measurements. I also discuss the good agreement between different measurements for the structure and variation of near-surface meridional and zonal flows, especially within the near-surface shear layer (NSSL), and their connection to magnetic fields and the solar cycle.
